Hybrid working role

£55,000 basic salary, car allowance, 25 days holidays, plus bank holidays, life assurance and pension.

We’re at the start of an incredible journey to transform our people strategy and plan for the future, and this role will play a key part in this transformation. The Talent & Leadership Development Manager position is a new and pivotal role for Pendragon PLC.  You’ll be joining the HR team, reporting into the Director of Strategic Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition & Development.

You’ll be required to support in the development of a best in class internal and external talent identification and assessment process, promoting Diversity and Inclusion. Developing and delivering leadership programmes to ensure our future leaders thrive and enjoy their career journey with Pendragon, will be key. Our engagement survey tells us that our associates are crying out to grow their skills and progress their careers with us; this role will work closely with Talent, Recruitment, Strategic Workforce Planning and L&D to ensure we can provide programmes to make this happen.

So, what’s it all about, the role:

  • You’ll be implementing and cascading innovative solutions so that the Pendragon group can accomplish its mission, goal and strategic plan for talent development, ensuring visibility of new solutions and processes at the highest level
  • You’ll support in the creation and integration of the group talent management processes, including but not limited to; Talent Reviews and Succession Planning, Promotion Process, Leadership Assessment and Leadership Development, Career Paths
  • You will develop a strong partnership with the People Consulting team to embed succession activities across the Pendragon group, ensuring a proactive candidate pipeline and talent mapping underpins the group’s growth ambitions
  • Working closely with the Learning and Development team, a key task will be to build internal senior leadership/executive development programs, which will enable our ability to focus on nurturing future leaders from within the group and accelerating capability, creating a robust succession pipeline
  • You will also need to develop intervention strategies to address succession risks & identify opportunities, which will include career/personal development interventions for specific individuals/groups
  • You’ll be working collaboratively with the Head of Diversity & Inclusion to define and implement a D&I ambition and strategy, ensuring full integration across all other HR, culture & leadership activities

What are we looking for, the person:

  • You’ll be a true professional who thrives on nurturing talent, with the ambition to deliver an industry leading talent management process that truly embraces diversity and inclusion throughout
  • You will be a self-starter who is a well-practiced master of multi-tasking! This is a hands-on role, involving designing and delivering leadership development training
  • We are a progressive people function, working in an agile way. So you will need to be highly adaptable, working across a fast-paced environment, prioritising multiple projects and liaising across multiple teams
  • You will have gained experience and abilities to think creatively and yet translate and deliver operationally, with exceptionally sharp execution. You will never lose sight of both the short and long-term goals, being pragmatic and outcome-oriented
  • Experience in both designing and delivering talent programs will be essential
  • Your attention to detail will be outstanding throughout the development of all processes, along with your ability to leverage data to make informed decisions along the way
  • You’ll be a highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts and proposals at all levels
  • You’ll be able to forge and sustain great relationships with the wider business to ensure the delivery of key projects and initiatives
