Chatfields will celebrate an industry milestone on the 2nd July 2015 by opening the 500th Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) lane in the UK.
Designed to check if heavy goods vehicles, trailers and public service vehicles are roadworthy as well as meet safety and environmental standards, the new ATF lane has been installed at Chatfields' Birtley site in County Durham and joins the groups three other facilities in Leeds, Sheffield and Stockton.
Chatfields has invested heavily in its new state-of-the-art ATF facility, which features the latest technology approved by the DVSA. To celebrate the milestone opening, Alistair Peoples, chief executive of the DVSA will be in attendance to officially cut the ribbon and formally open the facility.
The launch event will offer guests, national fleet operators and local business customers based within the North East, an opportunity to explore the new facility. Also on display will be the latest DAF range as well as a fantastic range of vehicles from the northern Stratstone Land Rover and Jaguar retailers.
Wayne Edwards, National Franchise Director for Chatfields, commented:
"We are delighted to be opening this milestone AFT facility at our Birtley site. The new ATF lane will allow the Birtley site to offer a true 'one-stop-shop' solution to help customers minimise vehicle downtime and make service and maintenance a great deal more efficient. As a group we are committed to delivering the very best service we can for all of our customers and the introduction of this new facility is another example of how we continue to invest to achieve this goal."
